After creating much hype and enthusiasm about the way the 45X concept looked, the Tata Harrier has finally showed off itself in production ready form. The home grown car manufacturer has also begun accepting bookings for its new flagship SUV with an initial amount of Rs 30,000.
The most anticipated launch from the Tata Motors stable couldn’t get better than having its image revealing the production ready SUV leak online. The image has reveals quite a few interesting details about the car like the floating roofline, rising waistline that rises up to the large taillights, a wide opening tailgate and a massive skid plate. The production spec Harrier will ride on massive 16-inch alloy wheels wrapped in 235/65 R17 tyres
Based on Land Rovers Omegaarc platform, the Harrier will be a 5-seater monocoque SUV and will sport the brands Impact 2.0 design language will offer extraordinary exteriors, intelligently designed luxurious interiors, future ready connectivity and infotainment systems.
Under the hood is a 2.0 litre Kyrotec motor that will be BS6 ready and is expected to churn out 140bhp of power and come mated to a 6-speed manual transmission, while a Hyundai sourced 6-speed automatic will also be on offer at a later stage.
Tata is expected to officially reveal the Harrier SUV for the first time, with a launch time scheduled in January 2019, which is also when deliveries will begin as well. The Tata Harrier will compete with the Jeep Compass, Renault Captur, Hyundai Creta and the up-coming Nissan Kicks.
