Renault launches Captur with more safety features

Renault India has launched an updated Captur in the Indian market with updated safety kit. The new safety features now let the Captur confirm to safety regulations introduced recently.

Buyers now have the option of choosing between the RXE and the Palatine trim as the automaker has discontinued the RXL and RXT variants. New in the safety kit list includes speed alert sensor, driver and passenger seatbelt reminder and rear parking sensors.

Renault has enabled One Intergreation Concept by equipping the Captur with a new 7-inch touchscreen system. The touchscreen now gets Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, advanced navigation and Voice recognition. It also features Eco Guide – a system that monitors the driver’s patterns and provides guidelines for improving efficiency. Also new for 2019 is new seat upholstery, multi function steering wheel and cruise control.

Under the hood the 2019 Captur is powered by the same 1.5 litre petrol and diesel engines. The petrol produces 104 bhp and 142 Nm of torque, while on the other hand the diesel puts out 108 bhp and 240 Nm of torque. Transmission options include a 5-speed for the petrol and 6-speed for diesel. On the economy side, the petrol delivers 13.87kmpl and 20.37kmpl for the diesel.
