Renault has launched an important update for the entry level Kwid hatchback priced at Rs 2.66 Lakhs ( ex showroom).
The 2019 Kwid now gets new safety features such as driver airbags, ABS, reverse parking sensors, seatbelt reminder along with overspeed alert as standard. The addition of the safety features come at a time when the automakers are expected to update their respective models with safety features specified under the safety regulations.
The other big feature that has made its debut on the updated Kwid is Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Though no confirmation from Renault about which variant will have the update, it could be offered as standard on the Kwid range.
Mechanically the Kwid remains largely unchanged and it continues to be powered by the same 0.8 litre engine petrol engine which produces 54 bhp and 72 Nm of torque. The engine comes mated to a 5 speed manual transmission, while the more powerful 1.0 litre puts out 67 bhp and 91nm torque. The higher powered variant gets a 5-speed manual and an AMT gearbox option as well.
