Sherco TVS has announced its four rider squad for the Dakar rally 2020, TVS made this significant announcement at the MotoSoul 2019 event in Goa wherein the automaker is having an event showcasing its products and brand on a grand scale.
Scheduled to be held between January 5th and 17th 2020 in Saudi Arabia, TVS has announced that its participating team will include seasoned racer Michael Metge (France), Enduro Champion Lorenzo Santolino (Spain), and Johnny Aubert (France), and India’s ace rider Harith Noah who is set to make his debut at the Dakar Rally.
Now in its 42nd edition of the annual international Rally-Raid that happened at the dunes of Saudi Arabia, Dakar 2020 will be a journey through unknown landscapes, unexpected challenges, untold stories and unbelievable memories. Commencing at Jeddah passing through Riyadh and culminating at Al Qiddiya. This is Sherco TVS Rally Factory Team’s sixth consecutive year of participation in the Rally.
It has also been announced that Sherco TVS Rally factory team leader Michael Metge is gearing up for his seventh outing at his gruelling rally this year, while Lorenzo Santolino will make his second appearance at Dakar Rally.
Brining 35 years of racing experience into the achieving a win will be Johnny Aubert who finished sixth in the Dakar 2018, while the fourth rider, Harith Noah is said to be the brightest talent from India and has shown tremendous performance in the International rallies.
However Indian rider and Dakar 2019 finisher Aravind KP, who has been a part of the TVS racing team since 2006, has sustained a leg injury during his practice session earlier this year due to which he will not be a part of the Dakar Rally 2020. KP had earlier successfully completed the 2019 edition of Dakar making him the only Indian to finish the gruesome rally at the 37th position.
Having strong performances at all international events including the Merzourga Rally, Desert Storm and Baja Aragon, TVS has now set an aim for another strong finish in Dakar 2020. Further making the announcement at the MotoSoul 2019 in Goa
