Skoda Auto has announced that the Rapid sedan has a hit a new milestone in the country. The automaker rolled out the 100,000th model which was the flashy red Monte Carlo spec Rapid at its plant in Chakan Pune.

Introduced to the Indian market in 2016, the Rapid shares crystalline styling from the Octavia and Superb with plenty of clean and neat lines along the profile of the car, it also gets well appointed interiors with black and beige scheme and high quality materials.
The Rapid also comes with a plethora of features such as R16 Clubber Alloys, LED daytime running lights, gloss black b-pillar treatment, height and length adjustable steering wheel, audio controls on steering wheel, Climatronic air conditioning, Anti-glare rear view mirror and chrome décor for gearshift selector and locking button of handbrake.
Powering the C-segment sedan is a 1.6 litre TSI petrol motor that puts out 105 PS and 153 Nm of torque, while the diesel churns out 110PS and 250 Nm of torque. Transmission options include a 5–speed manual and 6–speed automatic gearbox for the petrol and 5–speeds manual and 7–speed automatic gearbox for the diesel.
Fuel effiencey figures are rated at 21.72 kmpl for the DSG petrol and 21.13 kmpl for the manual transmission petrol. Similarly the diesel manual returns 15.41kmpl in diesel manual and 14.84kmpl in diesel automatic.
The Skoda Rapid rivals the Toyota Yaris, Honda City, Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, Hyundai Verna and Volkswagen Vento.
