Skoda launches Karoq priced at Rs 24.99 lakhs

Skoda’s third launch for the day was the Karoq and it has been launched in the Indian market as a CBU product. The Karoq had earlier debuted at the 2020 Delhi Auto Expo.

Evoking the larger Kodiaq in its design, the Karoq measures 4382mm in length, 1841mm in width, 1624mm in height and uses a wheelbase 2638mm. It gets a muscular front face with slim crystalline LED headlamps along with the butterfly grille and a muscular front bumper.

The side profile is characterized by clean look and a waistline that begins from the front door and runs across the length into the taillights. You also get roof rails and large 17-inch dual tone alloy wheels wrapped in 215/55 tyres at front and 215/60 rubber at the rear.The rear of the Karoq gets unique C-shape LED taillights along with bold Skoda lettering and a dual tone bumper.

The interior of the Karoq is again inspired from the Kodiaq and has a clean neat look with black and beige upholstery. There’s an 8.0 inch touchscreen infotainment system that comes loaded with connectivity like Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and Smartlink connectivity. The Karoq is also a proper 5 seater SUV and can fit in 5 passengers in relative comfort.

Sold only in one trim Style, it comes fully loaded LED headlights with adaptive front light system, LED daytime running lights, silver roof rails, LED taillights with crystalline elements. Skoda logo projection under front door, panoramic sunroof with bounce back function, virtual cockpit, 12-way adjustable power front seat, 2-zone climate control, diffused footwell lighting and colour programmable ambient lighting.

Powering the Karoq is 1.5 litre TSI petrol engine, it produces 150hp and 250Nm of torque and comes mated to a 7-speed DSG transmission and has a claimed top speed of 202kmph. There is no a four wheel drive or diesel engine on offer in the Karoq.

Talking about safety it packs in 9 airbags, i-fatigue alert, tyre pressure monitoring system and cruise control, parktronic system, automatic wipers at front with rain sensor hill start assist and ABS with EBD.

The Skoda Karoq could go on sale sometime in April this year; however it will take on the MG Hector, Jeep Compass, Tata Harrier and Mahindra XUV 5OO.
