Skoda Auto has introduced the new Rapid 1.0 TSI automatic in the Indian market. The Czech automaker had earlier released teasers giving hints at the two pedal technology launch incoming.
Buyers in line for the Rapid automatic can have theirs in four variants – Rider plus, Ambition, Onyx, Style and Monte Carlo. Equipment on the other hand is the same as the manual with LED crystalline headlamps, LED daytime running lights, 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Mirror link, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
The new Rapid 1.0 TSI AT like the manual is paired to the 1.0 litre turbo petrol with 110hp and 175Nm of torque and comes mated to a 6-speed manual and the newly introduced 6-speed torque automatic transmission. The 2020 Skoda Rapid will however face tough competition from the upcoming new generation Honda City that is all set to launch sometime soon, while the just launched Hyundai Verna facelift, Volkswagen Vento, Maruti Suzuki Ciaz and Volkswagen Vento are also in the fray for some competition.
