First displayed to the public at the Delhi Auto Expo in February, SML Isuzu has now launched the Global Series range of trucks in Goa.
The next generation trucks were unvilevled in the presence of Mr N.B Khandeparkar –Vice Principal of Chowgule Industries, Mahesh Murukudkar – Marketing Manager SML Isuzu, Harish Sawant – Sr Marketing manager – Chowgule Industries limited , Mr Venkatesh Talaulikar – Marketing manager – Chowgule Industries Limited, Mr Maruti Telang – Senior works manager – Chowgule Industries limited and Mr Hasanpreet – Service Engineer SML Isuzu.
On the occasion of the launch Mr Jeetandra Sawant and Mr Apalinario Alvares were handed over the keys to the trucks.
The new Global Series trucks sport an fresh new look which is a break away from the age old design that the company has been using since 1980s. The truck now comes with a globally acclaimed Isuzu design cab and an all new cargo box with SML logo imprinted into the rear door. It also gets spring action door lock for better aesthetics. Other design highlights include large windows and increased windshield area for better visibility, Crystal clear headlamps and cab mounted anti skid floor step.
Where the exterior has got an all new look, the interior takes a big leap forward with an all driver seat, soft touch PU steering wheel and new can based instrument console that comes with multi information display. The multi information display reads out information such as Error codes, fuel economy and distance to empty. Additionally the new GS Series also comes with a fuse box mounted in glovebox, USB port, roofline retainers which, door trims with bigger grab handles and provision for speakers.
Powering the GS Series of trucks is a powerful new engine that puts out 75KW and 85KW depending on the vehicle and comes with 310mm clutch and bigger gearbox. Suspension duties are handled by hydraulic jack and improved leaf springs.
SML Isuzu has also launched an app called SML Saarthi, which is an advanced and user friendly app. The app provides real time data to the owners phone with functions such as Dashboard Analysis, Live tab, Alert tab, real time vehicle location, help feature and report about breakdown of vehicle with 24×7 service support.
