Hot among the slew of new car launches expected to fire up in August 2019. A teaser video interior of the Altroz probably being shot for the TVC commercial has been leaked.

Seen in the video is a firsthand look at the production ready interior of the car and its dashboard. It sports a sporty steering wheel, rectangular centre air con vents, illuminated push button start/stop and a freestanding touchscreen infortainment system.

The touchscreen infortainment system can be seen having adopted most of the controls in the system, thus leaving no room for congested buttons resulting in a clean and neat look. The only buttons visible are shortcut keys and climate control buttons. The touchscreen comes with connectivity via bluetooth and i-pod along with ambient lighting feature as well. What’s not visible though is if the car comes with Android Auto or Apple CarPlay. A harrier like instrument cluster also makes its presence with colour backlighting along with Maruti Baleno inspired power and torque output screen.

What really stands out however are the doors which open at a 90 degree angle, a feature aimed at allowing easy access to the cabin atleast at the front doors. Another feature worth mentioning and something that caught our attention is the Google assistant app that hints at connectivity features and tech support that could debut in the Altroz and announcing that bookings have commenced though Tata is yet to confirm it.

Powering the car will be 1.2 litre petrol and 1.5 litre diesel engines mated to 6-speed manual and AMT gearbox options. The Altroz is also expected to get cruise control, however whether it will be available in both petrol and diesel engine options is not confirmed.

The Altroz when launched will start a new fight with the established rivals such as Honda Jazz, Hyundai Elite i20, Maruti Suzuki Baleno and the Toyota Glanza. The Altroz is also expected to spawn a full electric or EV version that will go on sale at a later stage.
