A few days post its National launch; Durga Motors the dealer partners for Tata motors in Goa has launched the Tiago NRG in Goa. The Tiago NRG is basically a cross version of the Tiago hatchback and is aimed at more adventurous buyers.
The most noticeable change is the increase in ground clearance that has been raised to 180mm from the 170mm in the standard Tiago. Speaking of the design  the Tiago NRG boasts of a blacked out roof, front grille, door handles and outside rear view mirrors. Additionally it sports  front and rear skid plates, 14-inch dual tone alloy wheels, projector headlamps with black inserts,  body cladding and a black trim with Tiago NRG badging on the boot.
On the inside the Tiago NRG receives an Active black interior with splashes of Canyon Orange on the A/C vents and gearbox. It also gets a unique denim inspired fabric with contrast orange stitch pattern. In terms of features, the Tiago NRG comes feature loaded with a Harman sourced 5-inch touchscreen infotainment system with 3-D Navigation, Cooled glovebox, 8-speaker Harman system and 242 litres boot space.
Tata has also packed the Tiago NRG with safety armoured body which that can withstand absorb high impact energy, ABS with EBD and CSC, dual front airbags and reverse parking sensors with display.
Mechanically though, there are no changes done to the cross – hatch and it continues to be powered by the same 1.2 litre Revotron petrol and 1.05 litre Revetorq diesel engines. The 1.2 litre Revotron petrol produces 85 Ps at 6000rpm and 114 Nm of torque at 3500rpm. The 1.05 litre Revetorq diesel puts out 70 Ps at 4000rpm and 140 Nm of torque between 1800-3000rpm. Both engines come mated to 5-speed manual gearbox as standard.
Tata Motors is offering the Tiago NRG in three colour options Canyon Orange, Malabar Silver and Fuji white. The Tata Tiago NRG will take on the Toyota Etios Cross, Maruti Suzuki Celerio X and Ford Freestyle.
