Tata Motors has finally launched the Tigor Electric in the market at a price tag of Rs 9.9 lakhs (ex showroom prices) however the sales are limited to fleet buyers only.
The Tigor Electric looks no different from the standard car save for a few EV badges and stickers on its exterior, the cabin stays the same too and continues to offer the same levels of comfort and quality as the standard Tigor.
Tata Motors has launched the new Tigor Electric in two variants – XM and XT. Features on board the car are identical to the standard fuel powered Tigor such as automatic climate control, integrated audio system with bluetooth, aux-in and USB ports. It however rides on 14-inch alloy wheels.
The biggest change is under the hood, where it gets a 72 volt 3 phase induction motor with 41hp output and 105 Nm of torque. The car offers 142 kms driving range on a single charge and the battery pack that can be charged to 80% in 6 hours through a regular wall socket. Users can also avail 80% charge in 15 minutes by using a 15kw quick charger.
The home-grown automaker has also announced that the company has delivered the first batch of Tigor electric sedans to a tour operator by name of Janni travels Bangalore. The tour operator in the city to provide e-mobility service to its corporate clients and fleet customers while enhancing sustainability. Around 25 such examples will be deployed soon. Tata Motors is offering 3 years/1.25 lakhs kms warranty on the EV sedan.
