Tata Motors has continued its commitment to revolutionize the public transport system by delivering six 9m Marcopolo Starbus Ultra midi busses to PMPL. The 33-seater busses are women friendly and meet requirements of every stakeholder – driver, passenger and operator.

Customized under the Tejaswani scheme of the Government of Maharashtra, the busses have been fitted with best in class features like fire detection and suppression system, CCTV cameras, Intelligence transport system, electronic destination display boards, GPS with inbuilt telematics system. The vehicle empowers State Transport Units (STUs) with a more connected experience, thereby, increasing operational efficiency and providing user friendly vehicle maintenance and tracking.

Powering the Ultra bus is a 3 litre DICR BS-IV diesel engine that produces maximum power of 104kw @ 3000rpm and 360 Nm of torque at 1400-2000rpm. However the busses come mated to Automated Manual Transmission (AMT) technology provides superior experience for the drivers enabling them to operate without fatigue.
Tata Motors has disclosed that the balance 27 busses will be delivered to Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited by March 2019 in a phased manner.
