Looking at injecting some serious fun and character into the brand, Tata Motors has launched sporty new hot variants of the Tiago hatchback and Tigor sub 4 metre sedan. The JTP tuned cars are biased on three essential pillars sporty exterior and interior design, enhanced engine output and performance along with driving dynamics and aural experience.
Both the models feature sporty exteriors in the form of smoked projector headlamps, honeycomb mesh front grille along with a tastefully sportier looking front bumper. It also gets side skirts, functional bonnet and side scoops, and 15-inch diamond cut alloy wheels, while the rear gets an updated bumper with black mesh and twin chrome exhausts. Additionally the Red cars get a black roof and wing mirrors, while a white one receives red wing mirrors and black roof.
The insides get an all black interior with subtle deep red inserts for the A/C vents surround for a sporty theme setup along with double contrast stitching for the leather wrapped steering wheel, gearlever and seats that sport JTP branding stitched into them. The allumium pedals provide the inmates with sporty feel while on the go.
Tata Motors is also offering the ConnectNext infotainment system sourced from Harman with 8 speakers, voice recognition and voice suite on offer.

Under the hood of the cars is a 1.2 litre turbocharged Revotron petrol motor that produces 114PS of power and 150 Nm of torque. The Tiago JTP and the Tigor JTP come mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard and offers optimized gear ratios with superior acceleration and exciting performance. Tata says the JTP models are capable of attaining a top speed of 160kmph and can go from 0-100kmph in 10 seconds
.
Tata Motors has also worked on the suspension of both the cars and also lowered the ride height for a sportier feeling. The Tata Tiago and Tigor JTP will be available in 30 dealerships across the country.
Tata Motors had entered into a 50:50 joint venture with JT Special Vehicles (JTSV) aimed at injecting faster development, specialized capabilities, and access to true performance motoring pedigree by producing performance focussed versions of its standard cars.
