Tata Motors has announced that its compact blockbuster the Nexon has achieved new heights by hitting 1 lakh sales in the automobile industry. This announcement comes barely 22 months after its launch in the Indian market.

The Nexon also gained more popularity when Global NCAP crash test results disclosed that the compact SUV had scored 5 stars safety and 3 star child safety protection. The news had spread like wildfire thus boosting the sales charts of the SUV overall.

A favourite among SUV buyers since its launch, the Nexon has been well received for its well rounded package and smart coupe like roofline along with feature loaded interior and lengthy feature list have been well received in the market.

The petrol pumps out 108 bhp and 170 nm torque, while the 1.5 litre diesel produces 108 bhp and 260 Nm of torque. Both engines were initially offered with a 6-speed manual, while the introduction of the AMT gearbox along with multi-drive modes such as Eco, Sport and City has also been well applauded by the customers.

The Tata Nexon goes up against the likes of the Hyundai Venue, Ford Ecosport and Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza.
