Tata Nexon receives 5 stars at Global NCAP Crash test, officially becomes the first Made in India ca

In what could be described as good news for the automobile industry and crash safety results, Tata Motors has created history with the Nexon by grabbing positive results at the crash test by Global NCAP. The Nexon was tested for front and side impact crash tests and secured an overall score of 16.06/17.00 along with five stars safety rating.

The Nexon scored five stars in adult safety protection and 3-stars in child safety protection. All variants of the Nexon have complied with the five star adult protection and 3-star child safety protection. The news of the vehicle securing 5 stars is an applauding welcome against the earlier four stars it achieved in the crash test in 2014.

.Speaking about this new achievement by the Nexon, Mr. Mayank Pareek, President – PVBU, Tata Motors, said, “The Indian car-buyers are increasingly rating safety as one of the topmost parameters while making a car purchase. We are elated to receive the highest ever safety rating from Global NCAP, for the Nexon. The Global NCAP results are a reflection of our commitment towards keeping Safety as the first priority. With these test results, the Nexon becomes the first car in the country to achieve a full 5-star adult safety rating and emerges as India’s Safest Car, in terms of crash safety”.

Dual airbags have been standard right from launch


Ever since its launch in the Indian market, Tata has armed the Nexon with dual airbags and ABS as standard, following the crash test in 2014, the company released an updated Nexon that came with seat belt reminders for driver and passenger that boosted the safety levels of the SUV. This has been made possible by the state of the art digital simulation techniques and numerous safety related tests, leveraging the company’s decades of experience.

This is a huge landmark for car safety in India. Congratulations to Tata Motors for achieving India’s first five star rating for adult occupant protection. The Nexon was enginerired India and this shows the huge capability of the domestic industry to achieve excellence in safety design and performance. Speaking of the safety features, in addition to ABS and EBD, the Nexon also comes with corner stability control as standard. On the other hand child safety door locks, voice based alerts, rear parking sensors, front fog lamps with cornering assistance; ISOFIX child safety seats, day/ night inner rear view mirrors and rear defogger are offered on higher trims.
