Toyota unveils new Fortuner facelift in Thailand

Toyota has revealed the much awaited new Fortuner facelift at Thailand markets today. The new Fortuner facelift packs in a more aggressive design, bigger touchscreen entertainment system, a powerful 2.8 litre engine and a top of the line Legender variant.

New on the outside is an aggressive face with a larger front grille flanked by thicker chrome at the sides and redesigned LED headlights. The bumper is new to and now gets large fog light housings with thicker skid plate and bumper mounted daytime running lights. The rear receives new LED taillights that are now slimmer and a restyled bumper. New 18-inch alloy wheels are also part of the package now, while 20-inchers are available on the top spec Legender variant only.

The top spec Legender receives a unique front bumper with sequential turn indicators, a split front grille, sporty LED daytime running lights, gloss black touches for the front and rear bumper and dual tone paint finish. There’s also a bigger 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system

The interior gets minor updates in the form of a revised instrument cluster and ac 8.0 inch touchscreen infotainment system. The touchscreen packs in Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. In terms of features it gets LED ambient lighting and a 9-speaker JBL system.

Powering the Fortuner is a 2.8 litre BS6 spec diesel engine that churns out 204hp and 500Nm of torque and comes mated to a 6-speed manual and automatic transmission. We also expect the 2.7 litre petrol to be offered alongside in BS6 spec obviously.

Toyota has also packed the Fortuner facelift with some safety kit such as 7-airbags, traction control, hill start assist and much more. The India spec Fortuner however has got a price revision of which will be updated soon, however the facelifts arrival to Indian shores won’t happen before 2021.
