Volkswagen launches Polo & Vento automatic

Pic just for representation only

Volkswagen has introduced the new automatic versions of the Polo and Vento siblings. The new torque converter automatic replaces the DSG auto offered in its earlier versions.

Powering the Polo and Vento automatic is the brand new 1.0 litre TSI engine; both engines develop 110ps and 175Nm of torque and return 16.47 kmpl for the Polo AT and 16.35 kmpl for the Vento AT respectively.

Buyers however should note that the new engine and automatic gearbox combo is offered only on higher trims of both the Polo and Vento. The Polo gets the engine gearbox combo on the Highline and GT variants, while the Vento gets it on the Highline and Highline Plus variants only.

Lower variants of the Polo get the improved version of the earlier 1.0 litre three cylinder MPI petrol engine with 56kw and 95Nm of torque on offer. Transmission options for this variant include solely a 6-speed manual only, while fuel efficiency is rated at 17.75kmpl.

On the equipment front, the Polo in the top spec GT TSI trim gets dual airbags, black ORVM caps, GTI inspired seats and black rear spoiler that highlights its dynamic and striking presence on the asphalt.

The Vento on the other hand gets only one engine option is all of its variants, however the 6-speed automatic is limited to the top two Highline and Highline Plus variants only. Also limited to the top two trims of the Vento TSI are four airbags and LED headlamps.
