Volvo launches XC40 in Inscription and Momentum trims


Volvo has launched two new variants for the XC40 SUV Inscription and Momentum in India. The move comes after the 200 units of the launch spec R-Design were all booked following which Volvo increased the prices of the R-Design variant.

In terms of features the Inscription trim gets 6-spoke alloy wheels, wireless phone charging, 12 speaker Harman Kadon sound system, 9.0 inch portrait oriented touchscreen infotainment system, and a powered tailgate.

The base Momentum trim gets a different design for the front grille, Pananormic sunroof, 9-inch infotainment system and 18-inch alloy wheels which are differently designed from the ones offered on the higher trims.

Engine and performance wise the XC40 is powered by only one engine option which includes the 2.0 litre D4 four cylinder diesel motor churning out 190hp and 400Nm torque. The engine comes mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission.

On the safety front the Volvo XC40 gets the same level of equipment across all variants. The XC40 gets blind spot warning, lane keeping assist, hill descent control, traction control, eight airbags, adaptive cruise control and ESP.

Volvo has priced the XC40 Momentum at Rs 39.9 Lakhs, the R-Design has moved up the ladder and costs Rs 42.9 Lakhs, while the top of the line Inscription is priced at Rs 43.9 Lakhs (all ex showroom prices).

Bookings have opened at Rs 2 Lakhs for the new Momentum and Inscription trims all Volvo dealerships however Volvo is yet to set up a dealership in Goa.
