If you’re a regular reader of our blog, Auto Goa, you may have come across an article stating about the Remote controlled buggy race held in Goa.
A first of its kind to be held in Goa, it drew large crowds and spectators among automobile enthusiasts and fans who thronged to BITS Pilani Goa Campus to witness the race.
The track consisted of elevated climbs, bridges among tight curves and u-turns. However it wasn’t easy as some of the remote controlled cars kept toppling, losing track and running out of gas. But that didn’t dampen the spirit as they sprinted back into the race.
The participants sweated it out pushing the controls of their remotes to extract the maximum out of their remote controlled cars and grab the top spot. In all, Abhinav claimed the top spot with 26 points followed by Akash and Akshay who were 2nd and 3rd respectively based on the overall points of the tally of the three races. The fastest lap of the race was done by Akshay who scored 23.842.
Race 2 saw Akshay claim the top position, whereas the fastest lap score was by Aniruddha who tallied 25.622 seconds. The final race on the other hand saw Akshay retain the top position and also score the fastest lap time of 24.257 seconds.
Organised by the Indian Model Automobile Racing Club in association with Quark, the remote controlled car racing isn’t a very popular among motorsports. However IMARC has embarked on a journey to promote this unique sport among the enthusiasts
